Backlash over work on paths at Peak District beauty spots

  1. Aw bless. The runner sees nothing wrong with it. Maybe she should tell that to the wheelchair user or the partially sighted person who might also like to enjoy it.

  2. In general I approve of increasing access, but….

Crap like that has got to stop. You can’t cheap out and it may well be better to enable those who use the trails to effect the work themselves in conjunction with the likes of the Peak District National Trust.

That said, I don’t think *everything* will be made street wheelchair accessible. Perhaps ATWs (all terrain wheelchairs) need to become a thing?

Also it’s a *natural environment* and it isn’t always accessible to those of us who are perfectly ambulatory because we lack the skill/inclination to go route that come with an insta-death warning.
