Is this a scam? Cant believe I’m even asking but I’m pretty desperate for accommodation at the moment and wanted to get a second opinion.

  1. Yes it is, 100%. You won’t get a flat and you won’t get your money back either.

Reservation fees, rent before signing the contract… All of those aren’t a thing.

Also lots of grammatical mistakes and generally German that reads like it was auto translated.

  2. Scam and potential ID stealing which can cause more trouble.

  3. Yes never sign anything before going to the place in person. You rather be desperate than lose a ton of money.

  4. Yeah thank you everyone, definitely not gonna send anything.

  5. These scammers should make things more interesting and say that they are on the International Space Station (ISS) or something.

“I can see the flat from my office, but I can’t show it to you personally. The Boeing lander ship is out of service, as you may know.”

  6. “Ausziehdatum” since when do you need to get undressed when you apply for an apartment?

    It’s a scam bro

  7. Lost me at the alt 😂😂😂😂 this is definitely a scam, and never settle for a flat you haven’t seen in person with your own eyes!

  8. Any time any of the following prop up, alarm bells start:

    * too many grammatical / spelling mistakes

    * “I am out of the country at the moment”

    * unable to visit the apartment

Bells turn into a downright scam whenever signing or sending money gets involved without an exchange of keys at the same moment

  9. If someone asks you to pay money before the agreement and moving is confirmed it’s always a scam. You should play with such people and ask them their Ids

  10. They forgot to ask for your credit card and cvv number to make the contract.

  11. I‘m searching for an apartment too. Where exactly did you come across this scam?
