Only point I disagree with is that we all want a drugfree society. That’s just protestant nonsense.

From one extreme to the other. Please keep in mind that when places like Portugal are mentioned, that they have an entire supportive infrastructure built around it.
It’s not simply a case of making everything legal and that everything will magically be better.

De overheid heeft extra geld nodig, om al hun idiote beslissingen vanuit het verleden te bekostigen + de vergrijzing: ‘Dus laten we nu ook drugs legaliseren, zodat we miljoenen euro’s aan inkomsten genereren aan het verkopen van drugs. ‘
Daar komt het allemaal op neer.
Ipv de senaat af te schaffen, alle lonen van alle politici te halveren.

I appriciate Beels for her optimism, but in a country where education experts have these kind of opinions and the amount of people with mental health problems is increasing every year, legalisation seems like it can only end badly. Let’s try decriminalisation first and then we can start thinking about legalisation.

Hoe wil Beels de productie controleren in Afghanistan of Latijns Amerika?
Een voormalige politiecommissaris die zich gewonnen geeft, en drugs dan maar wil accepteren als normaal? Dat had ik niet verwacht. En dit lijkt me niet het goede idee. Dat kan alleen maar leiden tot meer hevige cokeaheads en slome stoners, met alle gevolgen van dien. Gaan ze de gezondheidsgevolgen op lange termijn betalen met de opbrengsten uit dit voorgestelde beleid?
Weet je wat er ook niet werkt? Vooruit en NVA in hetzelfde bestuur.
Legalisation will bring down criminality, not entirely, but by a great deal. The taxation of said legal drugs should be used to fund prevention and treatment. which now is funded by something else. so this means that drug users will actually contribute to the treatment and prevention of said drugs. It will also free up resources in courts and prisons, because a lot of dealers won’t be making that easy profit they used to make so they are basicly forced out of the market. Also treatment costs will go down, because the products are regulated, you won’t find coke cut with some dubious substances anymore, users will get cleaner and purer products, causing a lot less bodily harm than let’s say cocaine cut with rat poison.

Whaaaat? Educating young people about drugs is a overall good thing? But [“education experts”](https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2021/05/31/gezondheidsbeleid-scholen/) told me talking about it will make people start using them and we thus shouldn’t talk about it.
