Covid: NHS bosses call for free tests and isolation to remain

  1. We should have learned to treat sickness seriously as a result of COVID, instead we are now falling back into the old ways of expecting people to work while sick and making them feel they are inconvenience for being human. No one wants to work with someone with a common cold, why would COVID be any different?

  2. NHS bosses are coming up with excuses. They have got used to not doing their job and use COVID as an excuse.

No matter how much I dislike Tories, I’m glad we don’t have the socialists in power. They would have shut down the whole country permanently.

  3. Free tests? Sure. Isolation? If the NHS is doing ok, and with omicron and vaccines it very much is, I’d rather see covid treated as other illnesses and isolation to be cancelled.

  4. Need to move on now , how about concentrating on all the people who were neglected during the covid restrictions?

  5. I love how people say ‘ free ‘ tests , ‘free’ vaccines…
They’re using all of our tax money to pay for this , handing it all over to big pharma and whoever else. We will have to pay it back through taxes etc. Nothing is free.

It’s an absolute shambles some people have become stupidly rich from this virus using working people’s taxes.

  6. I mean, most people have forgotten about Partygate now, so the distraction of lifting more restrictions doesn’t really need to ahead.

  7. I get why since don’t want isolation any more etc. What gets me is that a lot of people now use phrases like ‘it’s not dangerous for the cast majority anymore’, ‘it won’t affect most of us seriously’. That may well be true. Surely for your at a higher risk there should still be guidelines in place?

I’m disabled, autoimmune issues etc. They stopped giving separate guidance for us a while back, so now my doctor’s are warning me to be careful but can’t back me up with work if needed. If everyone says it’s fine for the majority, then give the minority it won’t be fine for the guidelines so we are backed up and not forced into situations that are dangerous

  8. Bless ’em for trying, but if I remember correctly this is the government which “has had enough of experts”.

  9. living with covid is supposed to mean a function test and trace system, monitoring for variants (and new pandemics, of which we were terrible at doing as a country before covid) and isolation where necessary. THAT IS HOW YOU STOP LOCKDOWNS. not just bury your head in the sand and let it run through. fucking clowns. people can’t even afford their bills, how do you expect to get any grip on this when you’re telling people to pay up to £100 foe a test?

  10. Thing is, this will also mean that people will be unfairly banned from travel. If you can’t regularly test (or at least semi-regukarly test) how do you know if you’ve had it for weeks and just happen to remain testing positive? Good luck travelling if you suddenly test positive at the airport from that cold you had 2 months ago.

  11. This is so silly. I’ll get into the office and announce that I have COVID – we’ll see how long it will take my work colleagues to pressure my manager to send me home. I’d say about 15 min tops 😂
