The Mirror just released this article on some of the rental properties owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.

It sounds like The Mirror is trying to hit out at William, but this reflects poorly on the King too, after all, until 2 years ago, Charles was responsible for that mess.

It's a really bad look for both of them that 10% of the rental properties are this bad…

  1. They are so bad at the little work they actually have to do.

  2. This is appalling. Slumlord stuff.

Heating with coal and wood in the year 2024? Black mould? Refusing double glazing?

    Very depressing read.

  3. Charles and William have angered the British press about something…

Lemme sit back and watch this all unfold 🧍🏾‍♀️

  4. The mirror generally panders to the RF. Wonder what prompted this??

  5. NGL, I am impressed the news outlets are lashing out at the RF. I wonder what caused it, as I keep seeing tons of old circulated news articles in my feed

  6. Days ago, I was saying on this sub that I’m giving William’s homelessness and Earthshot work a chance, and it’s important to raise awareness for these causes and even small contributions matter. Now I feel like an idiot knowing that while he’s been talking about ending homelessness, people renting on his properties have been living in appalling conditions, scared to complain for fear of eviction or rent increases. He’s essentially acting as a slum landlord, contributing to the very problems he claims to be fighting while making millions.

They can’t say William wasn’t aware of the conditions of the tenants as the Duchy website itself states, that over the years he’s been working with his father managing the estate and has now taken over full responsibility for the estate leadership. On top of that, he’s renting out properties to mining companies that dig and drill in protected landscapes, all while championing the importance of environmental protection and fighting against pollution. It feels incredibly hypocritical.

  7. This is horrible! The trying to fight homelessness thing rings hollow when he can’t provide his tenants decent accommodation
