  1. This should free up more of the older ones for Ukraine 🙂

  2. The headline is confusing. They aren’t, like, empty HIMARS rocket shells or something. They are complete missiles.

Some people use “shell” to mean “anything fired by artillery,” but it can get confused if you’re used to “shell” meaning ballistic artillery specifically. Especially when “shell” has so many other meanings.

Someone writes “Kyiv shelled by Russians in surprise attack” and you’re like, “Jfc, when did Russia get that close to Kyiv??” But what they mean is that Russia hit Kyiv with missiles.

  3. oh God not if our unions become involved lol.

literally cannot fix our only subs because union drama as always.

  4. I am not sure if this will help Ukraine. Australia is procuring himars and other missile systems as part of their doctrine. Perhaps if missiles weren’t required to be supplied with the new weapons, that is not going to take away from U.S. logistics.

  5. How is HIMARS doing these days in Ukraine. Have the Russians found ways to intercept or trick them or are they still mostly immune from that?

  6. This is great news. The US is in the process of ramping up from 6K to14K per year. So 4K per year from OZ will be significant and take pressure off of the US.

  7. now battle proven. that is why countries like poland ordered 100+ HIMARS launchers.

  8. Seems like a very small amount, but Australia is not under a wartime economy and has no immediate reason to change production levels, except to support Ukraine.

If the powers that be from Western Allied Nations truly feel we’re on the brink of WWIII, then this may just be a ruse and a hugely underestimated number to mask a true ramp-up. Hmmmm, interesting…
