  10. Pardon my language, but Xitter is such a cesspool. Ever since the “free speech” absolutist took it, the experience became incredibly toxic. The worst part, some people actually defend the owner and his views.

  11. I hung on for a while but I deleted my account last week. Whole place is just too toxic.

  12. Had my account from almost the very beginning of Twitter when it was just Wil Wheaton, Lever Burton and me on there. Deleted it without hesitation when Musk started posting derogatory posts about Ukraine and Zelenskyy.

  22. I was on it for a few months, I actually signed up after Musk bought it out of curiousity to see what would happen next.

    Couldn’t deal with the constant torrent of hatred and politicised rhetoric on everything. It was starting to poison the way I thought about things and approached topics. 

    Deleted the app and closed my account down last month.

  28. I rarely open X, usually it’s from reddit links if I do.

    I don’t like the amped up algorithms entreating me to confrontational posts. Once you understand that’s how the algos work, you can’t unsee it.

    And I REALLY don’t like the idea my ad eyeball time funnels $ to Elon Musk.

    Musk bought X to buy influence.

    Let it instead become an increasingly irrelevant albatross around his neck.

    The best way to negate the Trump/Musk neo fascist dystopia is to boycott Musk’s products and boycott Trump and anybody else affiliated with him.

    My grandparents didn’t fight to defeat fascism so my generation could let the fuckers in the backdoor 80 years later.

  29. The hypocrisy of Musk laid bare as he turned it into his own personal online fiefdom and echo chamber. His tubby little fingers have manipulated the platform’s algorithm so severely that you can’t ever escape him and his outriders views in your feed.

  30. I switched to Reddit and Mastodon. Twitter is a complete sewer at this point. I like the idea of Mastodon as a distributed social network that has no centralised control.

I barely touch it now, full of bots, full of spam, full of the hard right, toxic, unable to have any conversations or debate because it’s full of blue tick users, terrible algorithms, and much more. “x” is barely even a shadow of what Twitter was only a few years ago and even then it was toxic as hell.

  32. It’s basically pretty clear why he bought it. To influence this election with uninhibited trash. He himself mentioned that he would be arrested if Kamala wins. He has a lot of cover up to make and a lot of financiers from the Middle East to make happy.

    It is a freak show and I like to watch.

  36. When it was still a twitter my messages were seen by hundreds, in some cases tens of thousands, but now the number is on few dozens at best of times. Clearly userbase has gone down since it’s trend with other people as well.

    Place is also over run by verified bots. After US elections are over i’m deleting my account.

  38. I just deleted all my posts and wiped my profile clean. Won’t delete it because I’m quite sure the spambots will take my handle and start posting Nazi shit with it.

  39. Facebook, twitter and other social media is just a place now for psychopaths who wants to be famous and degenerates so that is why I decided to leave.
