  1. Turns out Honecker was not the name of wierdly shaped sofa

  2. Now pay Poland for the same reason and for the wood.

  3. lol. After the report comes out blaming them squarely and saying it was true then they “volunteer to pay six mil”

“In a statement this week, IKEA Germany announced it would **voluntarily put 6 million euros** towards the new government fund established to provide compensation to victims of the East German dictatorship”

Then there’s this [bitch](https://www.dw.com/en/ikea-open-to-compensation-talks-with-gdr-forced-laborers/a-15921927) openly claiming there was no substance to it as per their internal review in 2012. Yup that’s how long it took for Ikea to “voluntarily” put six million aside … assholes

“We are asking for the release of documents from the old Stasi archive and are interviewing people within Ikea who were there at the time,” Ikea spokeswoman Jeanette Skjelmose, told Swedish news agency TT. “So far, **there are no indications that we asked for prisoners to be used in production** or that we had any knowledge of it.”

  4. Well the arent paying the prisoners are they? Money is going to the prison not the „workers/prisoners“ themselves?

  5. Thats nowhere near enough

in other article i found it was 30.000 prisoners ABUSED by them

they had to work 6 days a week for like 20 Mark for the full Week.

IKEA should be forced to pay atleast 30.000 x the minimum wage of this time as compensation for the full time they did run this factorys – 10 years? 20 years?

with simple math numbers this would be:

    30000 x 500 = 15.000.000 for each month

    that’s 180.000.000 for each year

1.800.000.000 when it was 10 years

3.600.000.000 when it was 20 years

but only 6 million? That’s pathetic. That would be 200€ for each person …
