New audit of baby deaths at hospital makes bombshell claim about killer nurse Lucy Letby

1. I knew she’s provided bizarre circumstances but I always thought there’s too many for someone to get away with.

2. I thought we knew she wasn’t on duty for a good chunk of the deaths. They spent a decent amount of time during the trial on that exact point.

   And now even more deaths don’t align, including the most serious? What was her defence doing? These sorts of questions should have come up during the trial. It would indeed be a massive miscarriage of justice if it turns out she’s innocent.

4. Private Eye have done yet again massive lifting on the letby case, there are enough holes in the prosecution case to make a Swiss cheese blush.

   The defense did a terrible job, not calling any professional experts almost was an admission as such. Miscarriage of justice and witch hunt, easier to blame one person, when there was probably systemic issues of which she was a symptom and a patsy.

5. If she’s innocent then this is absolutely horrific..

7. There are so many issues with this case. A huge part of the statistical evidence used during the trial was completely incorrect and an A Level student could’ve told you so. Completely embarrassing.

8. I don’t know whether she is guity or innocent, but it’s clear she deserves a retrial.

9. Such a comprehensive failure questions the integrity of the entire legal-judicial complex if this turns out to be true. I imagine a lot of powerful people would rather not open up this particular can of worms and continue with business as usual (hence why a retrial was been ruled out). But that doesn’t seem sustainable!

   I never thought I would be open to Lucy Letby truthing but there seems to be substance here and the conviction as it stands is obviously unsafe. This goes beyond just her and what she did or did not do, this is now about the right of every person in this country to have a fair trial no matter what the accusation is. The CCRC must give permission to reinvestigate this.

10. It looks like any time lawyers, prosecution and judges deal with anything medicine related and statistics is being used, it’s a guaranteed miscarriage of justice. People misinterpret statistics and no one knows what they’re talking about. I’d say if you’re going to convict someone to multiple life sentences, you better have multiple proofs beyond doubt. Compare this to the woman who killed two little girls by ramming her Range Rover into the nursery wall – her lawyer told the police she had an epilepsy seizure, her first and only seizure, and she’s not even standing trial.

11. While I’m willing to revisit my opinion on Letby’s guilt if new evidence can be assessed by a judge and jury, I’m not taking the word of her new KC, a man who had to be banned from the Thirwall Enquiry

12. Slowly but surely we creep closer to the truth.

13. I listened to the ‘Trial Of Lucy Letby’ podcast and was convinced that she was going to be found not guilty.

    Although I personally felt like she was guilty, there was no ‘smoking gun in hand’ evidence to prove it.

14. What garbage is this?? “Pay for Privacy Plus” to access this???

15. The other child deaths when she wasn’t even working were mentioned at the start. It’s one of the main reasons why some people think she either didn’t kill any of the babies, or had an accomplice, or was one of many staff involved with the deaths.

    Makes no real difference though. Even if she was found completely innocent and released from prison, there would still be people baying for her blood and she would never be allowed to live in peace without constant risk.

16. I wonder how many non- killers write in their diary and on post it notes about “killing babies” and about how bad they are .
