  1. First time seeing drones dropping nets thats epic lol, makes sense as a good way to stop them.

  2. Beautiful work. First high-altitude fixed wing interceptions were rare to see, now we see montages of dozens of them. Looks like that’s beginning to happen with low altitude net interceptions now.

  3. I’ve noticed a few 90+ days of drone losses.
However it doesn’t differentiate between quads and recon drones.
I wonder if this method along with the interceptors have raised the numbers or if Russia is just using more drones.

For example there are currently around 18k lost but if at the current rate they would be around 95k.

  4. This is very cool

No imagine doing this with AI swarms patrolling the sky. That’s where we’re headed

  5. They should train eagles to do this job. Combat eagles to take down drones would be crazy.

  6. I can imagine this will eventually be the majority of videos we see, drones vs drones is the new age.

  7. This seems like a pretty effective and possibly even more importantly, cost effective way to intercept drones, very intuitive. The Ukrainians are great at quick adaptations.

  8. TBH First time I have seen footage like this. Great use of a 50 cent net. Great innovation.

  9. in Theory. you don’t need a pilot for this. you can setup a defensive drone that will deploy when activated.

    it’s process is as such.

    1. Take off and rise to deployment altitude.

    2. Seek out enemy drone through a library of targets in memory. or sound or heat signature

    3. Fly directly above enemy drone and close in.

    4. Deploy net

    5. Return to base

    6. End

  10. It’s always interesting to see Ukrainians coming up with new and effective solutions to counter the Russian numerical advantage.

The drone arms race seems to have plenty of room for evolution, so I am very curious to see what the end result of all these adaptations to ever changing situations WRT drones will look like.

  11. It’s unsettling how much this looked like a nature doc.

Masamune Shirow hit the nail on the head with the whole machines-modelled-after-insects theme in his works.

  12. just needs a line attached to the net to retrieve the drone

  13. They can figure out the frequency they are on after hacking them, and further improve their electronic warfare

  14. 🎶 Spider drone……..spider drone 🎶

Seriously, I love the mix of new and old technology.

  15. be cool if you dont detach the rope instead you carry the drone back home lol

  16. how do they visually find a small drone in the sky like that?

i cant even visually located the one im piloting myself at 50m height …

  17. Surprised it took that long.

I guess it is not that easy to have a small net open like this.
