100e6 euro per year to compensate land owners at market price. Good luck with that.
Must say that not having different politicians who are residing in the same gov attacking eachother in the press everyday feels like a relief. This came about quietly without much drama the last months (plenty of drama before tho), the way politics should be done, regardless of how you feel about the agreement. After the elections it’s time to govern; not profile in the media.
So they’re just going to pay off farmers that are dumping massive amounts of toxic waste… [Recent research](https://www.standaard.be/tag/stikstof) showed that most of the heavily polluting farms are dumping far more nitrogen than they are allowed. Often they only get permissions for a low amount of nitrogen, because they get subsidies to install pollution reducing technology, which they turn off to save on electricity. So we’re going to give them some more money, after didn’t do what they agreed to do when we gave them the previous bag of money. Great idea.
And while the construction shift was calculated to cost between 7 and 30 billion. The Flemish government is going to “pay” 1.6 billion of this by 2040. But the owners are going to be compensated in full. So they are asking the communities to pay 29 billion? Just to make sure rich people don’t lose any money on their speculation?

So as I read this, this plan is pretty much aimed to prevent rich people from being confronted with the result of their bad decisions.
Everybody who is always complaining about high taxes. Here’s another example of where your money is going to.
Local politicians will decide which pieces of land are eligible. Yeah. In my lifetime I have seen enough how locals politics works to know how this will go.
Any immo experts that can give some up to date pricing on building grounds? (Let’s see how much 100 million euro’s really is)
Either way I don’t see this money go to average joe with a building ground the size of a “zakdoek”.
