Elon Musk’s influence over Trump is being closely watched by Beijing

   That, perhaps more than the presidential race itself, is being closely watched here in [China](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/china-us-election-trump-harris-xi-jinping-rcna173770), where the world’s richest man has [extensive business interests](https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/elon-musks-business-ties-china-draw-scrutiny-twitter-purchase-rcna26057) and the appearance of a tight relationship with Chinese officials.

   Musk stands to lose quite a bit from decoupling, as well as any increase in U.S.-China tensions, said Jia Qingguo, the former dean of the school of international studies at Peking University.

3. I think Musk’s political investments arent about Trump, he’s buying into the future Republican party. Even if Trump wins he will be gone in 4 years. Musk stands to gain poltical influence both ways since he has close ties to the younger prominent Republicans like Ramaswamy and even Vance.
