‘Leap in the dark’: Government must publish evidence for lifting all Covid restrictions, says RCN

  1. The evidence is that people aren’t following them.

The evidence is that bojo decided and despite being an incompetent clown he was elected by a landslide.

The evidence is the same (lack of) evidence used when he made all the other mistakes handling covid that left us with a high death toll AND long lockdowns AND big financial impacts. Literally the worst of all possible worlds.

  2. The idea that we need evidence to return to the structure and function of a normal human society is frankly ridiculous.

Ending the restrictions was a leap *out of* the dark, not into it. I’m really sick of the eternally fearful who want nothing more than to return to lockdown. I thought they’d gotten over it already, but I guess not.

The government needs to publish evidence for their dodgy PPE contract offerings, not this.

  3. There is none, it was a move of political conveinience by Boris. People will die due to this. He won’t.

  4. Badly written, should be “counter evidence to the established fact that so far masks have been preventing transmission and saving lives”

  5. In January 2021 Britain had the worst covid stats of any country in the world. Isn’t that reason enough to do something different?

  6. These are the people who were wrong when restrictions were eased in summer 2020, were wrong again when they were eased in spring 21 and late summer 21, and wrong again, by an outrageous margin, in winter 2021 over omicron.

Thanks to the scientific marvel that is the vaccines, we need to treat this now as we would a seasonal flu.

  7. Hospitalisations are way down because most people have immunity from either infection recovery or vaccination. Not only that but it’s MUCH milder than the delta wave. You have to remember that a lot of the scientific models make their predictions using worst case scenario data. Even as omicron emerged and we knew it was much milder than delta, the advisors presented their models on delta data. They’ve been wrong almost every step of the way during the pandemic.

It’s never going away and this seems like a pretty good time to let people continue living their lives as they wish.
