No cause 50% inflation so we have actualy LESS. Everything become more expensive, Food, Electronics, Services, Cars, Repair, Medical services i used price increase 2-2,5x.
Maybe, by the title of the data I would assume it’s inflation adjusted.
I would say that it’s tricky to recall pre pandemic standards. I myself have expected about 50% of y/y income growth. But it’s mostly become of me finishing Uni and starting working full time. Tho I got raises from 25PLN/h in 2022 to ~40PLN/h, 60% increase in net value, not accounted for inflation.
Despite inflation, there has been substantial economic growth. This data shows purchasing power, which should be adjustted for inflation. It’s hard to talk about averages for normal people, such data is going to probably the best source to notice trends like that, everyone’s personal finances have changed in some way over the past 5 years and no single story tells ot all
Even without looking at statistics, and despite inflation, there seems to be quite a bit of evidence of increased spending power.
I see plenty of expensive new cars in the streets, more and more flights to once-exotic holiday destinations, new coffee shops selling flat whites at almost-London prices (and packed – with Poles, not tourists), artisanal bakeries selling pistachio croissants for 20zł, shopping malls with low vacancy rates.
Much of the above observed In multiple towns and cities, not just Kraków and Warsaw. You wouldn’t see an Apple Store in a British town of 80,000 people, yet Nowy Sącz boasts a gleaming branch of iSpot.
I don’t know if any of this tells us anything meaningful, but it certainly suggests something
