Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish citizens are leading the opposition in voting for Trump. What do you think are the main reasons?

    Only Americans can actually vote so I’m not sure what European voting intention even means

  8. I just see a correlation between GDP, gini, human development index, and every other important metric for developed countries.

  9. The main reason is that people can see Trump for what he is.

  10. Our standard of living and political discourse is too good and stable for his political points to appeal to us.
    We have e.g. anti-immigration politicians here aswell, but almost none of these wants major tax cuts for the rich, low wages or privatized healthcare.

    Harris wants to raise the minimum wage, tax the rich, and improve medicare and the ACA; Policies most scandinavians agree with, because we’ve lived through the positive effects.

  12. Because most of the news Scandinavia gets about USA are taken from corporate media who are in the pocket of democrats.

  17. American here – my family visited Norway in 2022, stayed in Stadlandet as part of a family reunion. Drank at Korsen’s pub almost every night, and had the privilege of going to an after party drinking on the fjord. EVERYONE wanted to know what was up with Trump and why we let him be president, and this was while he wasn’t president. I don’t have a better answer them than I do now, but I can confirm that the Norwegians were very invested in our presidential process.

  20. Extremely biased news. Norwegian news papers have been super biased against Trump for the past 10 years. Just look at the pictures they use of him vs Biden. With Trump they increase saturation so he looks orange and unhealthy and where he looks angry or tried. With Biden he looks strong, they even put halos around his head… lol

  21. Because to the Norwegian culture, everything Trump says, stands for, thinks, believes, and what he wants to achieve is entirely antithetical to our belief in community, working together, equality, equity, humanitarianism, and every description of logic and reason.

    Most Norwegians look at his speeches and interviews, and are completely dumbfounded at the pure insanity of it all.
