Dang, Session is legit a fantastic app. Kinda insane that Australia would wilfully skip on it like that. Session has been instrumental in some of my activism work and it’s nice to use in my personal life as well. I guess I could write more about it but I really wanted that 150 characters.
That is not surprising, Australian law enforcement has strong powers to prosecute online crime, in fact they often work for the USA such as during Operation Trojan Shield, because Australian law enforcement has powers that USA doesn’t have
Nuclear take: The only reason “privacy-focused” apps like this are made is to give pedophiles a safe place to trade child porn. The other half of the market is drug dealers and terrorists. There is no logical reason why someone would insist on using a messaging app that has such intense measures that they flounder the laws of the country its based in unless they are a criminal or a schizophrenic.
>The founder of an encrypted messaging app who left Australia for Switzerland after police unexpectedly visited an employee’s home says he had left because of Australia’s “hostile” stance against developers…………………..
These are the same countries which cries about democracy when any 3rd world country does something like this.
