Poland’s Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Krzysztof Bolesta recently chaired a key meeting where officials focused on progressing a Sectoral Agreement for the Development of the Hydrogen Economy.

Discussions covered key issues, including an amendment to the Energy Law and ongoing public consultations, as well as the nation’s broader hydrogen strategy, officials said.

Deputy Minister Bolesta highlighted the importance of cross-sector cooperation in building Poland’s hydrogen economy, noting that the Sectoral Agreement, established in 2021, has made significant strides thanks to the collaboration between public administration, businesses, scientific institutions and NGOs.

“Our joint presence here today and the continuation of the work of the Agreement is proof of how important a topic hydrogen is,” Deputy Minister Bolesta stated, expressing gratitude to the various entities involved in shaping Poland’s hydrogen policies and investment strategies.

During the meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Climate and Environment updated the council on the proposed amendments to the Energy Law, a critical step for advancing Poland’s hydrogen initiatives. Officials said that the council also discussed plans for the fourth Conference of the Parties to the Sectoral Agreement, scheduled for November 28, which will address further steps in hydrogen development.

Operating since October 2021, the Coordination Council meets quarterly to evaluate progress and strategise the next steps for the Sectoral Agreement. It’s planned that the final meeting of the year, set for December, will provide an opportunity to review achievements and chart the course for Poland’s hydrogen economy in 2025.
