Like Russian promises mean anything. Why would we honor ours if they won’t honor theirs?
Even if Baker made such a promise NATO did not expand by forcing these countries to become partners.
Furthermore, name one promise Russia has ever kept? Just one.
As always the alleged promise was to not expand into east Germany, after all, the expectation was that after German reunification, the Warsaw Pact and the Soviet Union could continue to exist.
No one expected that Soviet Union to collapse.
Who gives a fuck what Russia is promised. This is not the Cold War, the world has changed. The Soviet Union does not exist. Russia promised to never invade Ukraine if they gave up their nukes. Let’s hold them accountable and bring Ukraine their nukes back then.
