Trump killed it, he outperformed in Latino men across the country.

Down here in south Texas, the border mess is a big reason for my Latino and black buddies for voting trump but I’m curious why do you think he out performed in latino and black males in northern states. Was it all inflation based, dems going too far left pushing the trans agenda, the border, religious beliefs agains abortion, or…..?

  1. Dems didn’t push a trans agenda.

Latino men trend conservative to begin with.

  2. (Repost from another thread)

A lot of Latinos are dedicated Christians and fundamental traditionalists. The culture also embodies the male dominance with women’s purpose aligning with MAGA.

People from countries like Venezuela and Argentine have seen the oppression under a big government. They come to the US to get away from it, and while Democrats welcome them with open arms and social support to protect them, ironically, they are reminded of the Democratic government that they ran away from. It’s like a childhood trauma with a strict parent resurfacing within your marriage.

Again, ironically, anti-immigrant Trump won a lot of votes from the immigrants. I think these immigrants believe in American Dream and the free country of America but don’t realize they are not a part of the nation under Trump.

  3. It’s because of the disconnect between the Democratic Party’s approach and the values it claims to uphold. It’s methods feel undemocratic with a tendency to impose beliefs forcefully often presenting candidates who appear insincere or controlled by hidden agendas. The public very obviously saw through this leading to a huge sweep.

  4. Inflation, open boarders, crazy progressive agenda, wars starting everywhere in the past 4 years, and the two in the highest offices unable to create a sentence without a teleprompter.

  5. Honestly, there’s allot of immigration hate in the Latino community, if you like it or not. There’s a huge divide between legal & illegal / new immigrants vs. old immigrants. I know it’s hypocritical, but that’s 100% the issue with my family and friends and that’s why everyone was pro trump in my area (northeast)

  6. Like 1992, “it’s the economy, stupid”. And the Dems role-played G.H.W. Bush, insisting that the economy was good, when voters thought otherwise.

I’ve seen this rerun before, in 1992.

  7. I think it was a pushback against social issues. All the things that people here like…those not on here do not. Student loans, LGBTQ, transgender, etc.

  8. I think any party that wants to talk down to potential voters is already Fucking Up.

  9. Fighting a culture war instead of focusing on economic policies

  10. I think it has more to do with Democrats telling people how they should think instead of allowing people to think for themselves. I’m not political, just an observer from the sidelines.

  11. Inflation yes, because she’s a woman, yes… Because she’s black, you betchya. This election has just proven once again just how terrible the educated population of this country really are.

  12. I’m in a secularly red state, with heavy Trump support and at least the people I talk to about it said the main appeal was dealing with the boarder and illegal immigration, inflation and the economy, and that “he’s a strong leader/he’s his own man

  13. The inability of the Democratic Party to primary the right candidates.

  14. Yeah.

Kamala didn’t focus enough on the economy. The news media sane washed Trump so voters didn’t realize what they were voting for.

  15. Trump motivated his base. Harris didn’t. Case closed.

  16. It was because of the absurdity the last 4 years have brought, we are literally marching towards world war 3 and this administration has felt that it is a reasonable course of action to dare Putin to launch a nuclear missile which would arguably put the entire human race at risk. We have signaled to the world that anyone good bad or terrorist can walk through the border, claim asylum, and get assigned a court date in 5 years to review the claim, releasing them in the states knowing shit about them. We have made horrible fiscal choices by dumping trillions into an economy that was already rapidly recovering causing it to overheat and sky rocket inflation. The institutions like the FDA, CDC, USDA, and other federal sects that are supposed to guide us to good health have categorically poisoned us and our children at the behest of corporate conglomerates that fund those very institutions that are producing artificially filled shit on our store shelves. Those same conglomerates were all massively pushing for a Kamala administration because they knew they could buy her loyalty. The last 6 months have made it clear with the addition of musk, gabbard, and rfk that Trump is equipped this time around to actually rid the Government of the bloated, wasteful, exploitative pile of shit that it currently is and create a legacy of childhood wellness and poison eradication. Every Latino person I’ve spoken to about trump, and the 3 Uber drivers even that I rode with in Europe all wanted trump because he was the only person they’ve ever seen push back on these senseless wars, the only person to stand up to allies and adversaries alike and demand accountability, and they felt betrayed and lied to by an administration that has tried to convince them that Trump said they were all rapists and murders when he did not ever say that. In essence, people are starting to catch on to the fact that the Democrat party has carefully and quietly become the party of big war, big money, big pharma, the party of wall street, the party of the powerful, and that the unison tune sung by media for 8 years straight and the absurd 1.2 BILLION spent by the Harris campaign from all of those behemoth institutions (including black rock) is evidence that what Republicans used to be, Democrats have become.

People are lamenting because for 8 years, due to no fault of their own they have been systematically propagated to by virtually every legacy media outlet nonstop, that Trump is the reincarnation of Hitler, a racist, a this, a that, Trump is not perfect and sure he can be a huge asshole; But the reality is almost everyone has formed an opinion that is negative based solely on third party commentary and out of context clips (like the ridiculous fine people quote that some people still actually believe was him praising white supremacists when it was so obviously not the case) – and not on the lifetime of valuable contributions made to society that made him beloved up until the moment he announced his Republican candidacy. When making fun of him for running and thinking he could win didn’t work, Trump had a lunch in at the white house with the Obama’s and Clinton’s, right after entering office and immediately following everything changed from mockery to hate and abuse of power to get rid of the person who wasnt apart of the lifelong political game.

  17. yes. inflation hurt the poorest among us the worst. who’s in that group latinos. there’s a big patriarchy ethos that exists in minority communities. it’s important to be providers. inflation rocked those communities.

  18. Democrats did not speak to issues that Americans actually care about. If you look at just about everything they push the last decade, it always comes from top down, nothing grassroots. Trans is a big example – nobody really gives a damn or even sees a trans person most days yet Dems probably spend 10-15% of the time talking about that. They ignored the border issue and inflation for a long time because they are out of touch and think anything against them is “right wing talking points”. Dem leadership is much like Reddit mods, but they have money and power lol.

  19. Yes at least partially. How electing someone to be president is going to stop inflation is questionable though I don’t know, that’s more of a business issue than a political issue. I mean it’ll have some effect but not a lot. I’d be surprised if businesses lower the price of their products if people are willing to pay for them.

  20. Trump won Latino men much moreso than he did in 2020 and 2016 and the main reason is immigration. This is not your typical white Cuban latino who came to the US many decades ago. This sentiment is now shared by relatively recent immigrants (who often came illegally but eventually worked at citizenship) from the last 10-20 years. Their logic is that they worked hard to get the status they have and they are pissed that recent illegals are getting a “free pass” and are getting fast tracked to status.

  21. Taking bets now. How long after Trump takes office will the cost of groceries and housing go down?

Yes, the economy was a concern because the rent is too damn high. But no President is going to fix that. Rising housing cost is due to a massive under-building of housing in America for decades. Rising food prices is due to a limited amount of corporations owning our food supply, climate change and war.

But the popular vote spoke. A large percentage of Americans love Trump. They want a strongman personality with autocratic inspirations, who praises dictators, and flouts the law. This is their guy. With no guardrails this term, we have officially entered the Fuck around and find out stage of the great democratic experiment. Let’s see what he does.

  22. No it’s machismo. Latin America has a lot of Hugo Chavez type dictators in their history.

  23. CNN Exit Poll Data

View of the Economy Excellent/Good – Harris +83
View of the Economy Not Good/Poor – Trump +40

Family Financial Situation Better than 4 years ago – Harris +70
About the same – Harris +43
    Worse – Trump +63.

Another thing to take from those numbers is that far more people are down on the economy and say their family is doing worse.

  24. I think the republicans just marketed much much better. Trump has been (more) consistent. He’s also done more public work, going on podcasts, social media, meeting famous people. The democrats just ruined themselves with Biden. Ruined their credibility to have on such an old incompetent guy. And then switch last minute too- no consistency!

  25. All of these margins you’re seeing aren’t because people flipped more or less. Most of it is because the Democratic supporting side didn’t show

Voters under 30 didn’t flip 11 points towards Trump. 20% of Democratic voting young people didn’t show up. This is true almost across the board

  26. The Democrats embraced too much LGBTQ, but no ordinary American cares. war overseas isn’t stopping any time soon. Inflation is here and staying. Gaza is near its ending phase, and the west bank. Ice agents granted more power to enforce raids. Palestinepeople forced evacuations, relocation beginning in 2025. The border is compromised. It’s a gamble at this point.

Democrat party has to redo everything from scratch

  27. The common thread between Reagan, Obama, and Trump is that they all offered their supporters a vision for how the country could be changed to make their lives better. Whether or not you agree with their policies, offering that vision was key to winning voters.

What vision have Democrats offered in 2016, 2020, or 2024? “Elect the first woman” in 2016, then “Not Trump” in 2020, and then “Not Trump and elect the first woman!” in 2024. Those visions all suck, and the only reason Joe won in 2020 was Trump’s catastrophic mishandling of covid.

  28. I firmly believe that we are witnessing a dynamic shift between recent migrants and older ones. It’s essential to recognize the significance of Kamala’s identity—her race and gender. Machismo plays a considerable role in this conversation. In my discussions with cousins and uncles, both first and second-generation Latino Americans, the narrative of a strong man consistently emerges.

  29. Lot of monkeys here who think the president controls the economy lol

  30. Of course not. Trump promised more inflation with tariffs. These is men preserving their patriarchal entitlements

  31. No nigga it’s cuz an unpopular candidate was forced upon the electorate without a primary. That’s what happens when you bypass people’s vote. Didn’t nobody like Harris.

  32. There’s kind of a stereotype that latinos become conservative and against immigration as soon as they become citizens. I married a Latina and more than half of her family is like that. There are a bunch of memes and skits about it. It’s partially based in religion. Partially because they’ve been convinced that they are the “good immigrants” and they don’t want to let the “bad immigrants” in that will make the US like their old country.

  33. Reddit will never admit this but it had a lot of it had to do with political persecution of one’s political opponents, and infringement on ones individual liberties afforded to them via the American Constitution.

  34. bro for me it was that Haris wanted discriminate all people and give money to blacks only, she is racist it is unacceptable.
