  1. Companies have their variable costs increased by government.

    Option 1: increase prices (equals inflation)

    Option 2: cut costs (lower annual increases/bonuses or reduce headcount)

  2. Yes, you increase the price of something you lower its demand. This is basic stuff, it still applied to labour the same way it applies to goods.

    This will be a drop in the ocean to corporate entities.  

    I am a social democrat and I wanted a progressive tax system overhaul- this ain’t it.  
    This does nothing to reduce inequality and only serves to nudge British citizens to work for someone other than themselves.  We’ve been being boxed in wage slavery since the leave campaign and with free ports soon to bring wages and employment standards down further there’s no road back at this point.
