Fuck that is terrifying. That other lad in Down got 1 sting and died after 2 days.
New fear unlocked.
I got stung by a swarm of wasps one time and I’ll never forget how effortlessly they kept pace with me when I was sprinting away. Tasted metal in my mouth for a couple of hours after.
Don’t disturb a swarm of wasps
One summers day many years ago I was chilling in the back garden with a cup of coffee and a book. I heard what sounded like drumming sound and look up to see a large swarm of bees or wasps flying through the sky. I never moved so fast indoors knocking over my coffee in the process. Amazing thing to witness but definitely wouldn’t have wanted to be stung by them.
Have you ever come across a wasps nest in nature?
The sound is terrifying 😳
You instinctively know that is a sound to stay away from.
Keep Pririton at home and take it immediately if you have a wasp sting or more than one. Doing this saved my relative’s life by buying them time to get to a&e when they realised they were having an allergic reaction. Disturbed a wasps nest, got stung by very aggressive angry wasps.
I was stung by a swarm of wasps about 12 years ago and I was ill for weeks afterwards. 29 stings in total and to this day I have never experienced anything as painful. They were relentless and kept attacking over and over. I had to have my mum pick loads of them out of my skin because they had imbedded their stings so far. Worst pain ever!!
Poor guy got My Girl’d.

A little tip: the more you panic ( exhale ) the most they come after you, they are attracted to the carbon dioxide
Was it the stings that killed him or an allergic reaction?
RIP. So fucking sad
In fucking November too.
Shouldn’t these bastards be dead and the rest hibernating?
Me and my father once tried to clear a nest by attaching a long piece of rope to the bit of carpet the nest was under. The rope was easily fifteen metres long. We really did think that by being fifteen metres away the nest would not come after us.
Well, we got that deeply wrong. Somehow they knew *exactly* who was at their nest and the cloud of angry wasps came right for us.
This happened very quickly. They’re surprisingly fleet. For some reason, my father broke for the house, I ran in the exact opposite direction away from the wasp cloud. They decided to choose my father, the cloud descended over him as he ran into the house.
Twenty stings we counted on him. He wasn’t young, so we were worried about heart attack, but he was fine. We dosed him to the gills with anti histamine immediately, we luckily had some of the strong stuff which makes you drowsy.
Anyway, lesson learned. They’re far more clever than you might think.
Myself a friend and our kids were attacked by a swarm of wasps in our local woods the end of August. Probably the most frightening experience of my life. The followed us the 1.5km back to the car stinging us the whole way. I ended up in hospital due to a histamine reaction as I was stung over 50 times.
A lady I know who lives up near the woods later said that there were 3 separate wasp attack incidents she heard of that week. It seems rampant this year whatevers going on.
I hate Reddit because you’ll see something and think ‘Hmm! Pretty rare occurence!’ and then within 10 minutes of being posted there’s a bunch of replies saying this happened to their cousin
Fucking horrifying. Was he allergic ya think or just freakish bad luck?
My 10 year old niece got stung 30 times in a woods this summer, she was fine after a few days but she’s terrified of wasps now naturally enough. Luckily no allergic reaction, could have been so much worse
Jesus Christ, what an awful way to go!! It must have been terrifying. RIP
Very late in the year for Wasps to be out and about.

Imagine my surprise to be down in Wexford last week and find one of the bastards hovering around the inside of the car. Not a nice thing to see land on your windscreen at country speeds.
Was out with my brother in law moving some scrap, got stung on the hand about 4 times, through a glove. We disturbed a wasp nest that was under the top wood layer of a palette and let me tell you, this time of year they’re fuckin’ angry when you disturb them.
It was fine, felt like my hand was on fire for a good 3 days but I was fine. Next weekend I’m out and we’re cutting logs, what would you know I manage to find another at the base of a tree and get stung on the chin. Apparently I’m a magnet for wasps.
There’s loads of wasps around right now. I got stung a couple of weeks ago and my arm was sore for a couple of days, but nothing major. Another woman was stung by two wasps the same day and was in pain for ages.
Worst I ever had was being stung by a hornet in America. The pain was shooting down my arm and I was so sick.
I once dealt with a wasp nest with nothing but a broom.
Thank fuck it was basically empty
I’m allergic to wasps . Found out last summer when I got stung for the first time . Have to carry 2 epi pens with me now . Poor lad rip
Are folks sure it was not Hornets . They are considerably more aggressive.
I watched a show on tele years ago and some bloke in America got chased by a swarm of bees or wasps, he ran into someone’s back garden and jumped into their swimming pool and these mother fuckers literally waited in the air above the water for him to come up for a breath. They are scarily smart
Got stung on the neck the other week by a wasp it was horrible
