If we can house and feed thousands of asylum seekers, why can’t we do the same for our homeless citizens?
Lots are ex servicemen, treated like garbage once the military breaks them. Normally working class boys, let down again and again.
Remember boys, the knee damage is not from your military service so we are not assisting you getting medical treatment. Now fuck off…
It is shameful, we don’t look after those that need help, when they don’t receive it and suffer.
I’m bored of the moral outrage in British society over seemingly everything.
This isn’t a question of morality, it’s a question of choices.
We can afford to house the homeless, but not if we commit to housing every asylum seeker who hops a dinghy across the channel.
Make a different choice.
Relax. Prince Willy will be along any minute to solve it.
This another call out to the homeless people where London “solves” its homeless issue by sending them outside of London, basically sweeping them under the rug?
This isn’t a sarcastic rhetorical reply. Nor is it meant to display lack of sympathy. Just pure morbid curiosity…
How much do these guys make a day/week begging on the street?
Reminds me of a recent American study that was released on the subject of homelessness a couple of months ago.
The city of Denver gave homeless people $1,000 a month – no strings attached. A year later they found 45% had found housing.
Great success, right?
Except for the fact that the control group – which saw homeless people receive only $50 a month, had a rate of 43% having found housing a year later.
The money had basically no effect.
London is majority foreign born so I simply do not care. The amount we spend on a single household for housing benefit in London we could hold multiple families in Newcastle.
Undocumented economic migrants get the gold carpet. These people…..Nada.

Another thread that reveals how few people are aware of the fact that [most homeless people in London are foreign nationals](https://www.indy100.com/news/the-majority-of-homeless-people-in-london-are-foreign-nationals-7293236).
