Goooood morning everyone.
I work in the vicinity of New Bond Street, and yesterday, as I was walking from Maddox Street towards Hanover Square, I saw this bright light in the sky, purple-ish, that caught my attention. It wad around 8pm so it couldn’t have been sunlight anymore. Is there anyone that can tell me what I was looking at?

Maybe it’ll turn out to be something very stupid but I’m genuinely interested in knowing.

Have a great day to you who read my post 🙂

  1. The huge floating ball of glowing hope and positivity that fades very quickly as we get older in London.

That ball was once massive, blinding, you couldn’t look at it without seeing stars and a headache. Now it struggles and soon will be gone.

I’m sorry you had to find out this way.

  2. See this light ever night but can’t figure out what it is

  3. They were trying to project an advert for a sky show onto the shard

  4. Doctor Manhattan. He decided to move here after the US election results.

  5. Similar lights in Fulham because of Stamford Bridge, so I would assume something similar if it’s not the BT tower 🤷‍♂️

  6. Most likely the uplighting for a monument/church/statue etc.

We could see similar lights from our elephant and castle balcony for 3 years before realising it was the spotlights lighting the Houses of Parliament hitting the clouds above.

  7. Light pollution and low clouds. Walk over there, I bet it’s a club or shop. Doesn’t happen often, but when Las Vegas gets a good rain and cloud cover, the sky looks very psychedelic.

  8. It’ll be a stadium light somewhere, or a projection regarding the election debacle.
