3. I think the problem is that people dont understand polls. For a very long time, polls were saying that Trump was more likely to win.if you add that together with th fact that that Trump outperformed polls consistently,.this result really is not so surprisin at all.

14. As an outsider (from Canada) my main thoughts on this outcome is not that people are uneducated, or do tread, or anything like that. I think it’s far more likely that people were of the mind set ‘what’s in it for me?’ Harris message was more around helping others but that did not resonate with the individual. I think this election highlighted how many people don’t really care about the plight of others and really only care about themselves. I’m certain there will be books about this, but my only rationalization about this outcome is that there are far more selfish and self centered people out there than I thought. He’s a criminal? He’s a rapist? Ow, he’ll lower my taxes! He’s got my vote!

15. Start a countdown to 11/3/2026. We need to take Congress. 33 Senate seats and 435 House seats will be on the ballot. Election 2026 starts TODAY.

16. As a 33-year-old black man who lives in NY and voted for Kamala, the lion’s share of the blame for this loss falls squarely directly on the Democratic party. It wasn’t white men or white people, it wasn’t black men not coming out to vote, it wasn’t because of your neighbors or the people you don’t like because they vote whatever way. This falls squarely on the democratic Party. They have allowed the Republicans to set the pace for decades with no resistance. They allow Republicans to set the terms and the topic of discussion and they even foolishly stay with the labels they get branded.

    For a year the youth and others begged Biden to intervene in some kind of meaningful way against Netanyahu’s overkill in Gaza but he didn’t. When Kamala was asked she fell right in line not offering the slightest difference. Hell in 202 Biden got more popular votes than Trump did last night, Kamala under performed Biden in every county. They forced the most popular (by vote total) president out of the race and put his less popular VP in place without a primary and without making Biden step down as president, and I will admit she did an admirable job with what she could. I hope the party learns from this strengthens and comes back victorious in two years but it will be rough.

23. The problem is you can’t poll Republicans correctly. When almost half the nation accuses anyone suspected of even slightly being republican, everyone says they are a nazi or some other nonsense. So what you get is a large portion of the population that tell you they vote Harris or 3rd party when in reality they voted trump. The majority of Trump voters are silent. The ones with hats are the actual minority. Also Republicans by nature are a lot less typical to answer a phone, email, or mail survey questionnaires.

    In addition, you can’t poll someone like Trump “2022 polls were accurate because trump wasnt on the ballot” and soon, most likely you wont be able to poll Vance as he will likely take the Trump mantle and is already getting the support from maga but with a younger flair.

31. I assume they wanted the pollsters to show a close race. If they had predicted the outcome we saw last night, some Harris supporters would have sat home and results would have been worse.

    Stewart knows this and his outburst was calculated for his own interests.

    Blaming the pollsters is kind of like blaming the ratings agencies before the housing crash in ‘08.
