  1. A _whole_ day of action! That must be an AGS election special!

  2. A pre-election special? Or hopefully a beginning of a transport policing initiative?

  3. Surely low visibility undercover patrols would be more effective and have it every day.

The lads in hi vis will be spotted a mile away.

  4. Yet another “Operation”, the hi vis Yellow Pack special of transport policing. That’ll learn the scumbags alright.

  5. AGS don’t have the staffing to be able to police the transport network.

An independent transport police should be established to police the public transport networks. The exact same as the BTP in the UK.

  6. Must be an election soon, Garda on the trains are like politicians at your door, they only appear every 4-5 years

  7. This is a good thing. The same approach saw a marked improvement on traffic black spots without over-stretching (lacking) resources.

Consistency is key to a cooling effect. Antisocial behaviour is a low cost/free hobby for some. Add cost, even in the form of inconvenience, and they’ll go elsewhere. It might even keep certain types away from trouble hotspots if they think they can’t easily travel for free.
