  8. Prediction: aid to Ukraine is going to be cut. Russia will keep territory its seized. The Ukrainians will not be happy they all their sacrifices were for nothing. Ten years down the line, when Ukraine is cutting economic deals with China or India, the US will whine “they are so ungrateful!”

    With how much fake news has been posted from the US you really can’t read an article anymore and get the truth.

    I’ll wait to hear what Zelensky says. Trump has no good plan of action to end it that much I do believe. The only way he can end it is by Ukraine getting screwed.

  10. Ok. So. In my view, this doesn’t change much in terms of peace. There can and will be no peace until Putin or the Ukrainian populace want out, or are willing to compromise. We’re not there yet.

    Trump cannot force Ukraine to surrender, and realistically, I doubt he will try , as Ukraine is not the afghan government, it has a functioning military that, while being eroded, is still inflicting horrific attrition on Russia, and while that continues and Ukraine believes it can win, even if the us tried, it would not back down, and I hope the orange clown understands that at some point.

  11. Europe has the same size economy and manufacturing capacity as the US, They can pick up the slack.  The United States does not have a defensive treaty with Ukraine and they are not a part of NATO, we are under no obligation to continue supporting this war that Ukraine is losing.

  13. It is likely that they will be pressured to concede territory in Donbas to end the war.
    The war may continue if western Europe decides to step up support.

  15. Many of us in the U.S. didn’t want this reality to ever happen either. Ukraine’s best hope is the rest of NATO becomes less reliant on one member and steps up for them.

  25. The real story here is that Europe is really fucking weak. Why can’t Europe send more support for Ukraine to make up for what Trump will take away? Doesn’t Europe care about its own defense? Do they not realize that they’re next if Ukraine falls?
