Hi! I’m new to Finland and trying to bake a birthday cake, but I don’t have a mixer to make frosting from scratch. Can I use this in between layers of cake, or is there any other alternative?
I’d say go for it! It’s berry flavored creme pat type thing, they recommend it can go in pies, danishes etc. It can even handle being heated in the oven. But as a cake filling or frosting it should work fine 🙂
This product will be more like a whipped cream than a buttercream-type frosting. If that’s what you want for your cake, it would be an excellent choice.
Edit: If you want it to be fluffy like it’s shown on the product label, you’ll need to whip it. You might be able to do that by hand with a whisk, but it would be a lot easier with a mixer.
You dont need a mixer, you can do it by hand.
Yes you can use this in a cake. There are also other options but it’s a bit difficult to advise when we don’t know much about the cake you want to make.
I’d use rahka in a cake instead: I got the vanilla version of this for my daughter’s birthday cake last year. It did taste a bit too strong and the texture quite sticky, better for pulla like someone else here mentioned.
Thank you so much for asking this! I noticed this same thing in the store a few days ago and spent longer than I’d like to admit wondering if I could eat it like yogurt!
It is not creamy. It is the red thing inbetween the creamy parts in the picture. Bought it and got decevied by this…!
