Why Biden’s Team Thinks Harris Lost

1. The day after Biden took office he should have announced he wasn’t running again and they should have started Harris’s campaign that day. The White House and DNC should have been working on the campaign and optics immediately for her benefit. instead they decided the war was won, assumed Biden would run again, and locked Harris away. It’s still baffling that they lacked any foresight.

2. Trump supporters screamed “Economy and The Border”. It wasn’t a Herculean task to show that he is the wrong choice on both. He couldn’t even describe a tariff correctly and we have Scalise literally lying to Republicans about the content of the Lankford Bill. None of this stuff is sorcery, Democrats didn’t take it seriously and ignored what the Right was claiming to value.

   The Democrats tried to win the game of wedge issues with the Republicans instead of mocking the policy proposals the Republicans NEEDED people to take seriously to secure support. “They are coming for your abortion” apparently wasn’t enough of a motivation and didn’t nothing to chip at his support.

   Sucks that now the only option is to hope enough of Democracy remains intact for “I told you so” to mean anything in four years.
