  1. They dun drain the underground carpark of water?? Do they have the technology to siphon water???

  2. Title "Spain dreads more flood deaths?"
Worry is a waste of time&energy.
They needn't be "dreading". They have had a week now to anticipate & accept that there will be nearly 2,000 – as many as is missing. Although, given someone survived 3 days, they should have immediately moved far far faster to scan cars for human heat signatures inside, and aerial dropped Rescuers & or Pathologists (like yo-yos, up&down&up&down) to at least punch in windows, reach in & check for pulses/air movement. Then climb over to next car and next, then back up into chopper to next single car or car pileup (just bcoz someone isn't trapped by surrounding cars doesn't mean they aren't trapped by steering column).

They should have asked for every EU Nation to send their 2nd & 3rd Rescue Helicopters, with their Deputy State Pathologist & some Advanced Paramedics to increase the number of personnel qualified to determine alive/dead by sight if touch & examination are impossible). Then yo-yo'd them up & down from the choppers, just doing living/dead checks & documenting licence plate.
Leave the slower clear-up to those currently doing the very slow clear-up requiring extensive documenting of every detail of what bodies & cars they recover & from where etc.

Spainish Governments – National & Regional – are going to be in a whole other world of hell & fury from the mud-slinging people of Valencia if it is later determined at autopsy that ANY of these car occupants did NOT die instantly by drowning, but days or weeks later by dry drowning, hypothermia, blunt force crash-related injuries, brain bleeds/internal bleeding/organ damage, and/or starvation or dehydration.
