How Merkel endured: all the EU leaders she’s outlasted since 2005

  1. So Orbán and Rutte will be the senior EU leaders soon.. I wonder who’s going to last longer.

  2. The colours indicate the EU affiliation of the leader’s party (this is why all of Estonia’s leaders are the same colour – the Reform Party and Centre Party are both with RE)

Orban is dark grey for non-inscrits since Fidesz left the EPP earlier this year

  3. Ready for 4 years of Scholz/SPD, creating necessary reforms and change, followed by yet another 16 year run of CDU stagnation

  4. I never before realized how uncommon it is that in my entire lifetime (26 years) we’ve only had 3 different prime ministers

  5. Ok I’m only 20 but I had *no* idea Verhofstadt was our prime minister from 1999 to 2008. What the actual fuck.

Also it’s weird to see liberals in yellow.

  6. Men varför badade Merkel alltid med kläderna på?

But as a Swede I wonder if she always took a bath with her clothes on 🤔

  8. Curiously, between 2018 and 2020, a dog was often heard barking when someone spoke the name of the Slovakian prime minister!

  9. I was alive during the Balkenende government?!

I legit only remember Rutte and i am 19, so its not like Balkenende was only in power during the first few years alive

    Bruh

  10. Denmark actually had 3 prime ministers in a row with the name Rasmussen from 1993-2011 and then actually again from 2015-2019. So normally their middle names are used. Løkke was (is) also one.
