Swedish media outlet, Aftonbladet, has revealed four more artists who are rumoured to be competing in Melodifestivalen 2025.

Four new names are rumoured to compete in the Swedish national selection, Melodifestivalen 2025. Among the rumoured artists are both debutants and former partipicants.

The first new rumoured artist that Aftonbladet can predict with a certainty is Linnea Henriksson. She rose to fame in Swedish Idol 2010, and has since become a household name in the Swedish music industry with hit singles such as “Lyckligare nu” and “Halmstad”. She has previously hosted Melodifestivalen 2020, and was the Swedish commentator together with Edward af Sillén during the Grand Final of Eurovision 2022.

Another rumoured artist includes Erik Segerstedt who previously competed in Melodifestivalen 2009 as part of the group E.M.D along with Danny Saucedo and Mattias Andréasson. They placed third with the song “Baby Goodbye”. Erik later returned to Melodfestivalen in 2013 together with Norwegian artist, Tone Damli, with whom he performed the song “Hello Goodbye”, only reaching Andra Chansen.

Finally, Ella Tiritiello and Fredrik Lundman are rumoured to make their debuts in the competition. Ella Tiritiello is rumoured to compete with a ballad in Swedish and became known at only 14 years old when she performed on top of Globen, now Avicii Arena, during a tribute concert to the then recently deceased Avicii. Fredrik Lundman competed in Swedish Idol 2021 and is rumoured to perform a country song.

Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has gone on to be one of the contest’s most successful countries. The country has won the contest 7 times – tying with Ireland, the most recent being in 2023. ABBA´s win in Brighton 1974 with the song “Waterloo” marked Sweden’s first victory. Since missing out on the final in 2010, the country has gone on to finish 3rd twice and has won the contest three times. Only in 2013 and 2021 did the country place outside of the top 10 in the final.
