1. Before Tuesday, I would be hopeful that something would get done, probably naive.

   Now, fuck it, we had a good run until we literally started ruining everything on purpose.

2. I wonder how long will it be until things get so bad we’ll be trying all sorts of geoengineering projects that were previously unpalatable. In fact I’d wager we’ll see geoengineering done on a massive scale before we see net zero (if ever).

3. At this point, I hope it makes it into Trump‘s first term and then does it and it floods a ton of stuff and screws him over so badly. I’m pretty much done caring after everyone else showed me they don’t.

5. This is going to happen, it’s the result of more than 20 years of denial

6. Unless they’re willing to get bloody, it’s just gonna be more pleading and money beats talking all day to the people they’re trying to reach.

7. This is the wrong approach. A; it’s just pounding sand down a rat hole and B; it will reenforce the notion that we can “fix” our climate problem without addressing the root causes. It’s going to take an epic disaster with global effects to concentrate the minds of everyone on the planet to the fact that we’re facing total annhilation if we don’t change our ways. Thwaites may be the kick in the ass we need.
