I don’t think the headline is very fair. Why shouldn’t they have a pay rise?
So is the story being spun as ‘greedy tube workers being paid too much’ or ‘lucky tube workers get appropriate pay rise while the rest of you can go lump it’?

So barely keeping pace with inflation then. High inflation is the real headline.
Tube workers are getting a normal payrise in line with increasing cost of living. This is healthy and normal – they’re able to do so because they have strong bargaining power due to being well unionised.
The framing of the headline isn’t uncommon; those involved in Britain’s mainstream media seem to think workers should eat shit and like it.
Instead of celebrating the situation, they’ve turned it into a culture war battle of TfL vs workers. Divide and rule in action
