1. You were “surprised”? My God, why? Addiction prevents rational thinking, and the world economy has been *addicted*, in the clinical sense, to Perpetual Economic Growth for literally *centuries*. Only now, our delusional attempt to grow the economy forever is about to break Nature. Google “overshoot day”.
