Once it going the whole bottle flowed in with no spillage. I felt like Archimedes. Wife less impressed.

  1. That’s actually a great idea because I spill it all over the place – can I ask how you did it? Did you need to suck the screen wash through first?

  2. I just cut an old pop bottle in two and pour the fucker in.

  3. I keep a funnel in the car for this.

    Doubles up as a she-wee

  4. Don’t rip the whole foil off the top. Just cut a little hole and it’s easier to pour. Saves you faffing about with a syphon or a funnel

  5. Proud of you. Personally, I prefer pouring half the tub all over the engine.

  6. I had to do this for my Polo (I think you have a Polo or a Seat Ibiza or T-Roc) here to get the old screen wash out. The pipe was horrifically difficult to get into the thing but the satisfaction when it’s all come out and then filled with zero spillage… bliss.

  7. Absolutely soul destroying when you don’t get the right amount of excellence appreciation for shit like this.

    High fucking five my man!

  8. Funnelly enough I don’t usually do it like this

  9. Did you create the siphon with suction using your mouth? If so, the buzzing sensation might be due to screen wash consumption.

  10. Well done sir. Well done. Big congratulations from here in California.

  11. Just turn the container sideways? Stops the liquid ‘glugging’ out

  12. Presumably, you spit the first mouthful into your Austrian Liebfraumilch, just to keep standards up. 😉

  13. I mean I just bought a cheap funnel and keep it in the car to stop spillage.

  14. Good job I usually prefer spilling half of it over the engine bay!

  15. You are an engineering genius and deserve a medal. Well done.

  16. How hard is it to pour from the bottle? Just hold the bottle flat side towards the spout rather than thinner side.

  17. Fair play for your siphon magic, it’s pretty cool.

That said, it’s quite impressive the amount of people in the comments just glugging it everywhere. As long as air can get into the bottle, it won’t glug, so just pour gently. [This video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZbThnZ5-Vs) basically illustrates it with a straw

  18. Always poor from any container with the opening at the top so the air can enter thus preventing the glug.
That’s why proper Jerry can spouts have that little pipe to let the air in to prevent the glug

  19. All the farmers kids out their, now have the taste of diesel in their mouth

  20. Nice, but I enjoy the sport of pouring from above without spilling any (ok, much).

  21. Feels a bit like those JML TV adverts.

“Tired of splashing screenwash all over your car? Hate wasting so much screenwash by unsteady hands? Try our new siphon with the aid of mother nature’s gravity”

When all you need to do is just slowly tip the bottle lol

  22. I had to do a siphon once. Grabbed the spare length of hose from outside, sucked to get the water moving, got a live spider in my mouth. Never again.

  23. If you tip the jug sideways, along the handle, instead of forwards, it will pour without glugging.
