"I can only describe what I'm trying to do, and that's I'm trying to do it differently and I'm trying to do it for my generation," he told us. "And to give you more an understanding around it, I'm doing it with maybe a smaller R in the royal, if you like, that's maybe a better way of saying it."

  1. “And yet please continue to pay me millions of £ per year and don’t ask me how much I pay in taxes and I’ll continue to charge public service systems [through my duchy](https://www.thetimes.com/uk/royal-family/article/how-royals-make-millions-king-charles-prince-william-27lkftd2n) and be a [slumlord](https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/scandal-prince-williams-mouldy-hard-34022520.amp). K thx bye!”

The audacity of this fluff piece and this man I swear 🙄

  2. Imagine earning £23m a year for barely working less than 40 days a year whilst the average citizen puts in 38 hrs a week then struggles to make ends meet.

Imagine generating the carbon foot print of developing country whilst pontificating to the masses that environment needs saving.

Imagine owning over 4 spacious homes and being a landlord through no hard work of your own whilst your tenants like in dilapidated housing that they struggle to heat.

  3. “When you bow and curtsey to me you don’t have to go all the way down”

  4. They want to pare down the Firm, but not the amount of money they bring in. All I am hearing is, I want to pay less people and keep more for me. That’s why they are pulling from third string when their stepmom called out sick. None of those crowds wanna see third string.

  5. Watch John Olivers scathing summary of how the monarch filched millions off average taxpayers. Ridiculous for an entire country to support a single spoiled family to live in the lap of luxury.

  6. “It’s more about impact philanthropy, collaboration, convening, and helping people. And I’m also going to throw empathy in there as well, because I really care about what I do. It helps impacts people’s lives. And I think we could do with some more empathetic leadership around the world.” Well, he isn’t wrong in that part; hopefully his actions will match his words.

As for the rest of it, it actually sounds more like he’s for less pompous events, which is hardly a surprise tbh. The opinion that the BRF should adapt a bit has been expressed many times already. We’ll see how that turns out, though, seems like changing traditions isn’t exactly easy, and people are not always happy about it, either.

  7. Wealthy dilettante wants to continue being a wealthy dilettante but with less ceremony, fewer public appearances. K.
