  1. Anticipating some sort of negotiations in the next 6 weeks and doesn’t want Russian territory to be part of any talks by the sounds of it.

  2. They want to take back their territory that Ukraine currently holds before Trump takes office and tries to force a deal along the current lines of control.

    Imagine if there were no nukes to cosider, not that I think they will use them anyway..
    How easy wouldnt it be to take all Russia for a pan EU army. But then again, who would actually want to have that shit?

  18. On one hand this sets up a stronger negotiations stance, but on the other it sets up a strong offensive push.

  19. Many months ago, Ukraine allegedly had 20,000 troops in Kursk. Using ballpark military ratios, with similar technology and equipment levels, offense needs about a 3-to-1 advantage to attack. ([This August article quotes ISW](https://www.aljazeera.com/features/2024/8/29/russia-lashes-out-against-terrorist-incursion-in-kursk-pulls-back-planes) in estimating Russia would need 60,000 troops to expel Ukraine from Kursk.) Back then, Russia gathered 50,000 troops in Kursk. Which is close but not quite enough. They had some gains but ultimately couldn’t push Ukraine out.

    Maybe this new drone warfare changes the needed ratios from historical norms or something, but it seems to me that by yet again mustering 50,000 troops, yet again Russia has gathered not quite enough troops to do the job.

    First, Biden handicapped them with needless restrictions and he should have absolutely pressured the EU to do WAY more.

     Second, we elected Donald Trump who is a known Russian stooge that will help favour Russia whether by lack of arms or forcing a bad deal. 

    My family who taught me to be proud and love America, the same that bashed Michelle Obama for saying “For the first time I’m proud of my country”, all fall for Fox News talking points and love/adore Trump. I’m ashamed of my country and my family. Rough days.

  38. Land concessions and appeasement do not stop the war, it only delays the next round until after the enemy has had some time to rebuild their military.

  41. Going in before Trump strong arms negotiations with Zelensky. I’m not sure Zelensky realizes how much he lost in the US Election. If he thought the US wasn’t sending enough weapons before, let’s see how he likes phone calls with Trump/Elon about surrendering to their bff Putin.
