I have a question about such sockets. I’m getting these at my new place for internet. And the options are RJ45 socket or RJ45 with RTV/SAT socket.

Is RJ45 is enough to have fibre optic internet with modem installed? I do not need a TV connection, so if RJ45 is enough I’ll just take that (I do have RJ45+ RTV/SAT in living room but I do not want my internet connection there )

Or RTV/SAT is used in some way?

  1. Regular rj45 is enough for just the internet, RTV/sat would only be used for the tv

  2. Where are you from that you don’t know about standard rj-45?

  3. Some internet providers use concentric cables to provide service. Depending on your location and provided, they are obligated to prepare everything for you, so no worries.

  4. If you want fibre optic internet then your ISP installs its own fibre optic socket and provides you with a dedicated router AFAIK and from that router you can supply all your rj45 sockets in your home.

  5. RJ-45,

But it depends on what is on the other side, because that’s just a cable in the wall.

There should be a junction box where all cables meet and an external internet connection can be connected to the router (and maybe switch).

Then you need to use a patch cable to connect to the router/switch to make socket on the other side usable.
