  4. For the few people who don’t speak Hungarian, here’s a brief summary:

    * His ex-girlfriend recorded audio during party meetings and private discussions, which she used to blackmail the party (for 30 million HUF) or threatened to pass on to Orbán’s party. Obviously, they didn’t give in to the blackmail, so shortly afterward, she gave an hour-long smear interview about Péter on a pro-government media outlet, and reportedly handed over the materials (~11 hours worth of audio) in exchange for 5 million HUF per month and a Budapest apartment.
    * He disclosed a great deal of information about how the Orbán government uses private and state intelligence agencies to bug the party’s apartments and cars for eavesdropping purposes.
    * Additionally, it came to light that Fidesz purchased some kind of LLM model for billions of forints, which they use to generate smear campaign propaganda, feeding it with Péter’s every public statement, and apparently to help Orbán practice on an improbable debate with Péter.
    * He also spoke about a major coordinated operation to publish the materials they obtained (or illegally gathered and falsified) next week on dedicated websites, sending them to members of the European Parliament, and various foreign leaders, especially the ones, who he met with during this week (Macron and Nehammer).

  12. There are no more “Watergates” in the age of social media and fake news. There are absolutely plenty of modern scandals as big as Watergate, but also plenty of misinformation and disinformation to get enough people to either believe lies or not care.

  13. Do the Hungarian people give enough of a shit to do anything now?
