Hello r/thenetherlands,

Given that we will most likely be receiving refugees from Ukraine. The landscape of Dutch governmental and non-profit institutions that can help in such a situation can be quite complicated to navigate. This can be very confusing and frustrating when you have just arrived here. Hence, it would be a good idea to compile a list of institutions that are helpful to people coming here as refugees.

A factor that complicates matters is that not all people coming here as refugees will likely be requesting asylum. The Dutch government is [encouraging](https://www.nu.nl/spanningen-oekraine/6186324/nederland-gaat-gevluchte-oekrainers-opvangen-en-verlengt-visumvrij-verblijf.html) people to stay with friends and family on a visum, so we have to assume in our compilation of resources that not all people will have refugee status.

What I am specifically asking of you is to mention (and link to) any resources that these people may be able to use, with or without refugee status. Examples of this would be: de Voedselbank, het Juridisch loket and the IND. I will organise them into a list and have the list translated into Ukrainian by a friend.

Binnenkort krijgen we in alle waarschijnlijkheid te maken met een stroom van vluchtelingen uit Ukraine. Het spinnenweb van Nederlandse overheids en niet-overheidsinstellingen die kunnen helpen in deze situatie is best wel complex. Dit kan er toe leiden tot verwarring en frustratie als je net in Nederland aankomt. Daarom denk ik dat het een goed idee is om een lijst van instellingen te maken die handig zijn voor mensen die hier als vluchteling komen.

Een factor die het nog complexer maakt is dat niet alle mensen die hier komen als vluchteling hier asiel gaan aanvragen. De Nederlandse overheid [stimuleert](https://www.nu.nl/spanningen-oekraine/6186324/nederland-gaat-gevluchte-oekrainers-opvangen-en-verlengt-visumvrij-verblijf.html) namelijk dat mensen een hun visum gebruiken en bij vrienden en familie blijven. Dus moeten we aannemen dat tijdens het maken van onze lijst niet alle mensen asiel hebben aangevraagd.

Wat ik dus specifiek vraag van jullie is om iedere instelling te benoemen (en naar te linken) die nuttig kan zijn voor deze mensen, met of zonder asielaanvraag. Denk hier bijvoorbeeld aan de voedselbank, het juridisch loket, de IND etc. Ik zal ze organiseren in een lijst en zal er voor zorgen dat de lijst vertaald wordt door een Ukrainse vriend.

  4. Bibliotheken (iedere gemeente) hebben vaak taalcursussen/buddysystemen voor de taal! Volgens mij heeft Humanitas (NL-breed) dit ook..

  5. Hoe werkt het om iemand in huis te nemen? Ik heb geen vrienden of familie daar ofzo. Naar woon op mijzelf en kan nog wel een soort van slaap plek accommoderen tijdelijk.

  6. VluchtelingenWerk biedt maatschappelijke en juridische ondersteuning voor vluchtelingen. Ze bieden hun hulp onder meer aan in Ter Apel, het centrale opvangpunt voor asielzoekers.

    Recent is besloten om alleen nog maar mensen in de asielprocedure/mensen met een erkende asielstatus en hun familieleden te helpen, maar bij de vestiging waar ik werk knijpen we af en toe een oogje dicht. Wellicht doen andere vestigingen hetzelfde.

    Edit: ik kan het ook gewoon niet nalaten om te benoemen dat dit soort iniatieven heel erg mooi zijn en dat ik blij ben om te zien dat zoveel Nederlanders meeleven met de oorlogsslachtoffers in Oekranie, maar dat wij nu al heel veel oorlogsslachtoffers in Nederland hebben die onderworpen zijn aan een van de hardvochtigste, onverschilligste asielbeleiden van Europa. We doen het minimale om aan onze internationale verplichtingen te voldoen, maar ook niets meer dan dat. Ook wordt Nederland in Europa vaak tot de orde geroepen omdat de regering die internationale verplichtingen te nauw interpreteert. Dat Rutte zich in eerste instantie niet wilde commiteren aan de opvang van vluchtelingen uit Oekranie illustreert de houding van onze regering perfect. Iets om over na te denken dus de volgende keer dat je gaat stemmen.

  9. Een Oekraïense vriendin die in NL woont en werkt probeert haar moeder en zusje naar NL te krijgen. Ze willen de grens over gaan bij Hongarije. Weet iemand hoe ze zich kunnen aanmelden als vluchtelingen in Nederland?

  14. Niet helemaal on topic, maar ik zoek naar een Nederlandse organisatie waar ik een hulppakket voor de Oekraïners per post naar toe kan sturen. Iemand enig idee?
