HANNIBAL (WGEM) – The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department discussed the dangers of climate change, giving attendees the chance to learn how they could push back on climate change and global warming through everyday tasks.
Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department officials say they’re always active in their goal of creating community awareness and support of the vast nature in the city.
They held the event Sunday at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.
“Climate change and global warming is real and only growing today.” Department nature interpreter Gale Rublee explained.
The event had an interactive component to it as well with paper and pencils being handed around to help with the discussion and information.
