2. Im assuming to counter “Schneeverwehungen” so that fresh snow doesn’t get blown on the road there.

3. Those are for snow.

   The wind blows and snow “dunes” accumulates here and not on the road

4. I think snow. it’s to create turbulence in the wind, so that the snow get’s deposited on the lee side of the barrier instead of getting blown onto the road.

6. It’s to stop the Wildlings from coming south of it. White walkers too..
