It was so cute and I hope we didn’t scare it too much, but I have a dog and not sure how dangerous it could be for the dog so was mildly relieved when it left, but also sad 😔 it’s the first time I see one live

I love them. Wish I could see one in the wild.
The title is how I feel the morning after a hot curry.
Backyard?
Back YARD?
Is this r/casualusa ?
Oh Mr Hedgehog! You should be sleeping in a big pile of leaves.
Put some cat biscuits and a water bowl out overnight if you want/can. This could be a late baby and may be trying to fatten up for winter.
The fleas that live on them won’t jump on your dog as they’re host specific.
It will (unless too fat or ill) roll up to avoid your dog and you, but it’s best to keep them separate; if it’s been once it’s likely it will stop through again so you may need to be extra vigilant when letting your dog out at night
Edit – it’s always worthwhile noting your nearest rescue. If you ever need to catch one because it isn’t right, then a towel, thick gloves, and a box is all you need.
Be warned – they absolutely stink when they poop
I love animals in back gardens. I remember when I was young the highlight of a stay at my dad’s was looking out the bedroom window at night to see about four or five badgers loudly foraging outside.
i have a couple of hedgehog houses in my garden. The only time iv had one occupied as a year or so ago…and it died 🙁
If you ever see it walking during the day take it to a rescue
I love Hedgehogs! Have my free, pointless Reddit award for being the cherry on top of my Sunday evening!
Your backyard! In the UK! Head to the border, citizenship revoked, you’ve had your chips.
