1. Firstly really surprised it’s been that long. Also after the gaff by Sunak last year, you know every advisor has been planning for this one since.

   I’m sure it’s all very sincere, but you never offend veterans or be seen without a poppy for the first two weeks of November.

2. I’m sure at least one of the papers will have a headline like starmer snubs veterans to attend swanky event in France

3. Can I just say, it’s so nice to have a prime minister in photos like these that doesn’t look like a complete moron. Regardless of politics, I think most of us can agree Boris looked like a twat when stood next to other world leaders.

4. The German president took part in 1984 – 40 years ago.

   It is really weird how insular we are (in our remembrance, but also in general).
