This is the 4th time it's happening.

Has anyone else been experiencing this recently?

I wouldn't have a problem with it, but the fact that these keep getting jammed and I have to pull it out or ask someone is really getting on my nerves.

  1. I‘d inform the respective bank or maybe even the police. Looks super shady.

One more reason to go cash less.

  2. Sounds weird as they should be using machines to count and sort the bills before putting them in the machine

Call the number on the atm and tell them there is something wrong otherwise you might get charged for the wrong amount + helps them investigate

  3. As mentioned by others – please contact the bank the ATM belongs to and describe the issue.
It most certainly is not the norm.

I am actually very confused to see this as I was under the impression that the money (which is getting handed out by the ATM for a withdrawal) is being placed by the banks employees (or a third party) and therefore is being checked.

However, if it is true what you claim (this being happening now several times) – then I suspect that also money that was deposited in the ATM by clients is being used for withdrawals. This is the only way I believe this could be happening.
Unless there was an issue in quality assurance at the bank before putting the withdrawal money into the ATM, of course.

  4. Is it an ATM in the middle of the sidewalk or is it an ATM associated to an Institute or Post?

You need to inform them, because in theory the money loaded into the ATM are controlled with a machine and “in theory” by a person.

  5. I used to pay my rent and utilities in cash because that’s what my landlord wanted at the time.

I was withdrawing significants amounts of cash per month and this never happened once.

Contact the bank the ATM belongs to.

  6. Never seen this before. In my bank you can deposit cash on your account I assume thats how this happens.
