  1. Does this work for guys travelling through Ballyfermot?

  2. The indifference, or incompetence of the Justice system HAS to be an election issue. The Gardaí not bothering their arses in many cases, and Judges handing out exceptionally leniant sentences does not give me any confidence in our system. It also makes me feel less safe

As someone who will be voting in a GE for the first time this November I will strongly consider parties that will bring about meaningful reform in this regard.

  3. I see Deep Heat advised for self defense purposes here alot….has any one ever used it for that purpose or even know any one who has?

I can’t see it as being practical but I am open to correction.

  4. Deep heat, that’s a good one. Anyone know if it works. My wife would love to get pepper spray but it seems it’s banned.

  5. Fine Gael calling themselves the party of law and order and talking about increasing Garda resources needs to be thrown in their faces when canvassing.

The country is undoubtedly less safe under their tenure.

  6. Cut to Helen McEntee smiling on a poster saying “A new energy!”

  7. Ireland shit hole got ed for petty crime need triple the Garda

  8. I was in Dublin city centre on Saturday evening for dinner and had the little one with us around the Gresham hotel, not one guard on patrol , not one car on patrol , I witnessed a guy pull a knife on another two guys, the city is far from safe, I won’t be venturing in there again .

    * **ALSO:** Women in Cork continue voting for more of this, in a few weeks time.

  10. I got a can for my daughter. She’s 12. That’s the reality.

  11. This is sadly a reflection of people feeling less safe rather than it actually being less safe.

In reality our cities are some of the safest on the planet.

Social media algorithms giving you stories 24/7 of how unsafe it is out there, leads people to feel unsafe.

  12. It’s the sad reality that our cities have got very unsafe in recent times. Personally I noticed it after COVID. The Garda presence was gone after COVID.

As someone living in Dublin but from Cork it makes me sad to see both Dublin and Cork gone to the dogs.

  13. 🎶Bright eyes….burning like fire…..bright eyes….🎶

  14. ‘Impulse’ body spray is very effective too and much more discreet.

  15. That model Avensis in the stock photo they used went out 12 years ago. Why is the Examiner doing everything on the cheap?

  16. Absolutely stupid idea pushed on the public by Reddit. Have you ever seen what a puff of pepper spray looks like compared to deep heat? It shoots out in a thick stream with a small surrounding cloud, you could hit someone a meter away, it’s like a snake spitting venom. Deep heat sprays out in a small light cone in a wide radius, and might reach 30cm if there’s no wind.

I’ve met scum who’ve attacked women in my time, and even if you manage to spray them well with deep heat, you’ve just turned your attacker into an angry attacker with a stinging face. I am calling it now, someone will use this to try and defend themselves and end up beaten to near death. I can also see cretins pulling this on people on nights out who’ve annoyed them as a form of weapon to attack them with. I do not think we will see a story where someone saves themselves and gets away.

  17. I’ve never seen this happen – much to my disappointment. See how much one of these ‘big men’ like a taste of their own medicine.

Will never forget a young black lady up in Dublin, asking me to walk her down a back street by the bus station, because she was afraid to pass two groups alone – in her words, I was ‘too obviously scary to be one of the bad ones’ – it was funny until I stopped to think – she looked for someone she’d consider scary, to feel safer…
