LRT has extended the song submission deadline for Eurovizija.lt until later this month.

The song submission deadline for Lithuania’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 has been extended. The deadline for songs to be submitted to compete in Basel was due to be today, however, this has now been extended until November 25.

Eurovizija.lt will commence in January with between 4 and 5 Semi-Finals being held, in the final the winner will be chosen by televoting alone. The number of songs that will compete to represent Lithuania in Basel has not been announced. The participants will be selected by December 2, with each artist able to withdraw from the competition until December 20.

Silvester Belt represented Lithuania at Eurovision 2024 with “Luktelk”, he finished 14th in the Grand Final scoring 90 points. Lithuania’s largest points total came in the form of 8 points from the public in the United Kingdom and Latvia.

Lithuania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, however on their debut they finished in last place with nul points. Lithuania didn’t return to the contest until 1999 when Aiste finished 20th with the song “Strazdas”. Lithuania’s best result came in 2006 when LT United performed “We Are The Winners”. They finished 6th in the final with a total of 162 points. Lithuania has only finished in the top 10 on two other occasions; in 2016 with “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” by Donny Montell and in 2021 with “Discoteque” by The Roop.
