Muchova has been replaced in the Czechia team by Sara Bejlek, who joins Linda Noskova, Marie Bouzkova and Katerina Siniakova as the 11-time competition winners bid for another Billie Jean King Cup title.
World No. 142 Bejlek is only 18 years of age but has already claimed eight titles at professional level, including her maiden WTA title at Colina in November 2023. The teenager was a member of the Czechia team that sealed Billie Jean King Cup Juniors glory in 2021.
Czechia have also added world No. 164 Dominika Salkova to their team. The 20-year-old has mainly featured on the ITF World Tennis Tour this season, winning titles at W75 Maribor in March and W75 Prague in May.
Czechia will face the winners of the Spain versus Poland tie, which takes place on Wednesday, in the quarter-finals. As a seeded nation, Czechia received a bye to the last eight and will draw swords with either Spain or Poland on Saturday.
