We have to get them out of the gyms and back into the pubs and chippers to support the hospitality sector
Tell you one thing not increasing in price- cocaine.
Let’s be honest, once you tune in the gym gets so addictive you won’t quit because of a 2% price hike
This is what happens when you let teachers run the economy ……. It was a joke sir/miss !
Someone has to make up the shortfall in the vat cut for hospitality/direct provision hotels
We should be making gym memberships as cheap as possible. Fuck it have the gyms sign off that you are regularly attending to get a tax credit!
Of course, people are quitting smoking and drinking, then joining a gym to be healthier…. Let’s tax!!!
Wtf is this?
They upped the VAT on alternative milks as well what the hell going on with FG?
So I read an article awhile back about TDs getting thousands for gym memberships, so us plebs must be going to pay for This with VAT increases on our gym memberships , they are happy to screw the electorate for every last penny, greed is such a disease .
Do you feel like it’s a free world, when there isn’t tax on gym memberships within most American states?
Ok here’s what’s actually going on. FG have said they want to cut VAT on the hospitality industry to 11%. But you can’t just make up VAT rates – it’s against EU rules. To get 11% they would have to move hospitality to the “Second Reduced Rate” (which is currently 9%) and increase that to 11%.
That’s fine except that this rate also currently covers magazines and private sports facilities (gyms mainly). So to get hospitality to drop to 11% magazines and gyms would have to rise to 11%.
That’s it master government, keep the obesity levels high.
Now I understand why the Fianna Fáil manifesto includes tax relief for gym memberships
And people will still vote FG 🤭🤭🤭
The VAT increase is being off set by a a 50€ gym membership tax credit. For consumers that is
They should be subsidising memberships for people who attend regularly, as long as the gym has an agreed rate with them. Instead, they increase the “sugar tax” and introduce other stealth taxes. Gowls! They couldn’t give a shit about health.
