    There used to be a service within the federal police that provided much more insight into what was happening in the local police zones. They also identified good practices. But that service has been abolished due to budget cuts.

    This is a real danger that is affecting all of us. Government should increase the budget for police, giving them the resources they need to reduce accidents, like setting up more frequents alcohol checks.

  3. Don’t say it to loud… certain groups are dedicated to claim almost all accidents have speed as root cause. Between this and the percentage of deadly accidents that are on the highway and caused by trucks – its rather clear that thats fiction

  4. Meer controles zijn niet beter. Er moet gerichter gecontroleerd worden.

    Met een grote controle-actie kom je makkelijk aan veel cijfers (aantal gecontroleerden), maar je zal minder bestuurders ‘pakken’. Rondrijden en selecteren op basis van rijgedrag is veel effectiever. Maar dan zakt je aantal gecontroleerden terwijl het aantal positieven stijgt.

    Politiezones krijgen meer geld voor het aantal gecontroleerden, niet voor het aantal positieven waardoor je een systeem krijgt die inefficiëntie beloond
